¶ Where to Start?
If you are here for the first time, you probably want to flash ADVd12 on your printer. Before doing so, make sure that your printer is compatible with ADVd12.
¶ Features
This is a preliminary version of ADVd12, and not all planned features have been implemented yet.
¶ Implemented features
- Based on Marlin 2.1.3 beta 3
- Fixes bugs in the existing stock firmware, such as Y offsets during prints
- Complete reimplementation of the graphical interface and panels
- Panels to load and unload filament
- Preheating with 5 sets of temperatures and fan speeds
- Move and Homing panel with smooth movements. You can keep a button pressed and release it to stop the movement.
- Easy-to-use Z-height wizard to determine the offset between the tip of the nozzle and the trigger point of the 3DTouch.
- Rough and Automatic Bed Leveling (when using a 3DTouch or BLTouch).
- Temperature graph during heating.
¶ Planned features
- Support for other mainboards (MKS Robin Nano versions 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2).
- Check the behavior and wiring of your BLTouch (or a clone such as a 3DTouch).
- Extruder tuning: optimize the number of steps per unit and the filament flow.
- PID Tuning to determine the proper PID values for your hotend.
- Vibration testing: move the head and bed continuously to determine the source of vibrations or other mechanical issues.
- Input Shaping Tuning: reduce vibrations by introducing an anti-vibration signal into the stepper motor signals to cancel out vibrations in the printer frame.
- Skew Tuning: correct misalignment in the XY, XZ, and ZY axes.
- Linear Advance Tuning: control material pressure inside the nozzle, adapting it to the printing speed.
- Motor Settings: steps per unit, accelerations, ...
- LCD Settings, including dimming after a configurable amount of time.
- Filament Runout Settings.
- Print Statistics.
- I/O panel that displays the state of the various GPIOs and helps troubleshoot the printer in case of issues.
- Wi-Fi module support. I find the module unreliable, and it takes a lot of memory. I will, however, do my best to support it on boards with enough processing power and memory (V1.3, V3.0, V3.1, V3.2).

¶ Compatible printers
ADVd12 is compatible with Wanhao D12-230 printers that have version 1.2 or 1.3 of the MKS Robin Nano mainboard. I am also working on versions 3.0 and 3.1 of the mainboard. Support for the latest version, 3.2, will come later.
